This year has been a fruitful year Guests get the birds they want
.
January ; 2 birders from Barcelona
Although this 8 days trip in Taiwan
we hit by bad weather
but, we still get 152 species
47 lifer ( 30endemic we get 22 & 25 others lifer birds )
.
Feb ; Traditional New Year (Reunion with Family)
.
March ; 2 Photographer
this 8 days trip in Taiwan
They focused on shooting the Mikado Pheasant
on the 50k parking lot at Dasyueshan
they get a lot nice pic
.
April ;
lead 1 gruop 6 bird photographers from Taiwan to Thailand , they get many good pic
a big birding group from Beijing
this 12 days trip in Taiwan
they get alomst endemic birds
30endemic we get 29 , except Taiwan thrush
and 39 endemic sub
and many good birds and lifer for them
We also enjoy tea farm experience
Snorkeling at kenting and Lanyu
Birding in temple !? many delicious food

May ; 4 birders from UK
this 11 days trip in Taiwan
they get all endemic birds
and many good birds and lifer for them
Although when we visited Lanyu it's raining
.
June ;
1 birders from Sweden
this time in almost 4 and half days
We get all endemic , 35 endemic sub , and 15 lifer
He also have " Unbelievable Super good luck "
He kidding me say , the times I prayed in temples
in this 5 days trip is more than his life
But I told he , we believe
say a prayer and Gods will look after you ！
4 bird guide from Guangdong
this 12 days trip in Taiwan , it was my most tired time
in order to get the most birds
they gave up other experience
BUT , They get results that can't be surpassed
all endemic , 55 endemic sub they get 45
.
August ; 2 birders from Guangdong
Mother and her daughter (Primary 6)
4 days only in Dasyueshan , 30endemic we get 26
.
September ; 1 Bird photographers from Canada
Taipei, Yilan, Guishan Island
He wants to enjoy slow-paced bird watching
although we hit by bad weather
he still get 40 lifer
.
October & November ;
lead 2 birding group to Bohol Island, Cebu, Philippines
we enjoy Snorkeling with whale sharks
Experience Filipino Martial Arts
Tasting Filipino food
80 bird species recorded
they love Bohol Island, Cebu, and everything there
.
December ;
lead 1 gruop 6 bird photographers to Palawan, Philippines
they get endemic (22) and many good pic
in the end of Dec
guiding a Taiwanese bird photographer lives in the US
she have " Unbelievable Super good luck " !!!!!
she has more luck than everyone
get two critically endangered species ----
Spoon billed Sandpiper and Normann's Sandpiper
.
thank God
My client this year
All get the birds they want
Hope it can be better next year

Before and after the cold wave in Jan 2021 The cold wave brought several new records birds for Taiwan Bar-headed goose (Anser indicus) is a goose that breeds in Central Asia in colonies of thousands near mountain lakes and winters in South Asia, as far south as peninsular India It is known for the extreme altitudes it reaches when migrating across the Himalayas. We can't confirm why made it fly to Taiwan , but it attracts almost all Taiwan's birder & photographer to see it .  The photo was taken by my friend @penshing He is the author of a photographic guide book of Wild birds o Taiwan ( Chinese) The book can be published, due to borrowed many bird photos from my friends, he said modestly. . #taiwan #newrecord #birds #birding #birdwatching #nikon

Malayan Night Heron （Gorsachius melanolophus） From the English name " Malayan Night Heron " we can surmise they are mainly distributed in Malaysia and the Indo-China peninsula, but now those areas are not easy to see ( seems very diffcult ) In Taiwan, there are few fixed groups in central and southern hill area. Twenty or three years ago, the Malayan Night Heron in Taiwan, the amount of rare groups, in the bird guide book is belong "rare resident" level . And their activiti es almost under forest in the hill , is not easy to observe. But We do not know why, more than a decade, the Malayan Night Heron's population gradually to the north expansion, and seems to have begun to adapt to the city environment, so in the major campuses, botanical gardens, parks and other urban green places are also more common. It's out, and it's excellent! If you are thinking of birding Taiwan (or nearby) you need this book. ** May take a couple weeks before on sale overseas ** It's all you need for birding Taiwan. There is comprehensive coverage of the avifauna of the main island, offshore islands (Matsu, Lanyu, Kinmen etc), and surrounding seas. 670 birds are fully illustrated, plus compact double plates for escapees and difficult species comparisons. Eight years in preparation, the wait was wort h it and WBST is to be congratulated for producing such a useful book. The artwork is very good and of a standard meeting, or exceeding, that of international publishers. No other book illustrates the current 27 endemics, 56 endemic subspecies, other resident/migrant species and relevant subspecies better.
